DP100 diaphragm pressure gauge – with hygienic process connection

Baumer’s DP100 diaphragm pressure gauge is a pressure measuring device specially designed for hygienic processes encountered in fields such as the production of pharmaceuticals and foods.

Specially designed for hygienic processes in the fields of pharmaceutics and foodsWithout transfer fluid, thus no danger of pollutionAvailable with a wide range of hygienic standard connectionsHighly suitable for SIP (sterilisation in place) processes

The pressure gauge complies with protection class IP65 and works on a strictly mechanical basis without using a transfer fluid. This prevents pollution of the measured medium even in case of damage to the diaphragm. The DP100 is available with a wide range of hygienic standard connections. All components in contact with the medium are made of stainless steel 1.4435 (316L). The membrane has a surface roughness of Ra < 0.5 µm.
The bayonet ring housing of the DP100 is made of stainless steel 1.4301 and welded to the process connection. Either laminated glass or a special flat glass for instruments can be chosen for the window. The pressure gauge can be operated at ambient temperatures of -20..60 °C. The instrument can endure a maximum media temperature of 80 °C during continuous operation and can even withstand short peaks of up to 150 °C. This makes the DP100 highly suitable for use in SIP (sterilisation in place) processes. A version of the instrument which can be completely sterilised in an autoclave is available upon request.
The pressure gauge is available for the measuring ranges 0..6°bar, 0..10°bar, -1..5°bar, and -1..9°bar and can endure overpressures of up to 1.3 times the scale range. Its measuring accuracy complies with class 1.6 according to EN°837-3.
Due to the fact that the DP100 pressure gauge operates without a transfer fluid, it is especially popular as an alternative to instruments with pressure transmitters in processes where pollution of the medium must be prevented at all costs. This is the case wherever media of particularly high quality are processed or where pollution of the medium would cause substantial health hazards.

ARID adaptor – enhances precision and safety in pressure control

With the double adaptor ARID, Baumer enables the combination of their MEX5 safety pressure gauge and their PBSN pressure transmitter.

Enables the combination of MEX5 pressure gauge and PBSN pressure transmitter

For harsh and potentially hazardous industrial environments

High process safety even in case of a power cut

Very good price-performance ratio

Both instruments are designed for harsh industrial environments with high media temperatures where precision and failure-safety are particularly important. Therefore, the PBSN delivers high-accuracy process data as 4..20 mA output signals while the MEX5 gauge indicates the local pressure. As the MEX5 works on a mechanical basis with no need for electricity, it provides a fall-back option, ensuring that the process can still be controlled in case of a power cut. The resulting increase in process safety is particularly valuable in the harsh and potentially hazardous environments encountered in fields such as energy production, the petrochemical industries, and biotechnology.
The adaptor has one G½ or ½NPT2 connection on the process side and two G½ connections on the side of the measuring devices. It is made of stainless steel 316L and can operate at temperatures of -25..100 °C while being able to withstand pressures of up to 400 bar. The PBSN pressure transmitter delivers a 4..20 mA output signal which is more accurate in this pressure range than the current output signal of a mechanical pressure gauge equipped with an integrated 4..20 mA transmitter.
Since mechanical pressure gauges with integrated 4..20 mA transmitters are relatively expensive, the combination of two instruments through the ARID double adaptor offers a more economical solution. The fact that the ARID adaptor makes it possible to use two measuring instruments on only one pressure port on the process pipe saves further costs because the user is not required to provide additional pressure ports for the additional instrument.

Baumer LFFS – Level Switch

– assenza di parti in movimento;
– segnali d’uscita in PNP, NPN o digitale;
– approvati dalla FDA, resistente agli acidi in acciaio inox o plastica PEEK
– conforme EHEDG ed approvato 3A
– certificazione ATEX per zone a rischio 0, 1 e 2 così come le zone 20, 21 e 22

EN | Baumer | Programming the CleverLevel switch for different medias

The level switch detects the di-electrical value of the media and can therefore easily be configured to separate two medias with different di-electrical values (e.g. masking a foam layer.). This video shows the easy programming of the sensor for detecting different medias.

LBFS frequency-sweep level switch – New reverse assembly option

Friday, 18. February 2011

The new standard version of Baumer’s LBFS level switch is made from AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel and comes with a PEEK sensor tip. In addition to this, Baumer now provides the LBFS with special G½ process connections for reverse assembly. These options broaden the field of possible applications of the LBFS.

  • AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel with PEEK sensor tip
  • Special G1/2 process connection for reverse assembly
  • Can be mounted from inside of tanks and used as float-type level switch
  • Unaffected by flow, turbulence, bubbles, foam, and suspended solids

Based on the novel frequency-sweep technology, the level switch is suitable for measuring the levels of viscous or dry substances as well as liquids with a repeatability and hysteresis of ± 1 mm and a typical response time of 0.2 seconds. As the LBFS is unaffected by flow, turbulence, bubbles, foam, and suspended solids, it is particularly suitable for level detection in processes generating those.
The new G½ connection for the LBFS allows for two types of reverse assembly. The first makes it possible to mount the level switch from the inside of a tank using the included fibre gasket and a G½ nut. Fields of application include low level and leakage detection in tanks for oil or cooling fluid used in pneumatic systems or high-speed cutting (HSC) machines.
The second reverse assembly option enables the LBFS to be mounted in a simple G½ thread inside a tube to extend the length of the sensor. A fibre gasket and an M12 plug or 5-metre cable are included with the measuring device. With the tube functioning as an adjustable extension rod, the LBFS can be adjusted to changing levels. This makes it possible to use the LBFS as a float-type level switch in applications such as automatic dosing systems as well as for phase separation in the petroleum industry, hydraulic systems, and water/wastewater treatment.

EN | Baumer | CleverLevel LBFS / LFFS – the alternative to vibrating fork level switches

With Baumer’s CleverLevel series, you can enter into a new era of level detection technology that is convenient, precise, easy and maintenance free.

The widely used vibration level switches have vibrating forks that are quite large and which protrude quite a ways into the material being measured.Since pasty materials are prone to stick to these forks, it can often cause measuring errors.

With the sensors of the CleverLevel switch, no media remnants or solids are able to accumulate on the sensors. A precise and reliable level detection is thus ensured even under difficult circumstances.
